April 24th, 2017

Well, that's cool for Ellie (group date), right now all I can do is dream about going on dates.  But it is alright, I've been practicing the conversation part of dating with my pillow so in 14 months I should be great, but the pillow doesn't talk back much.

It is cool girls' camp is soon, I hope Ellie has fun, and if mom gets to go that she will have fun.  I want to go camping so bad.  The pork tacos sounded good; there is a little restaurant here that has pork tacos but they are 3 dollars for a little one.  The Chinese food sounds good too, now that is not here at all.

Life is good here, not a lot happened.  It is funny because we found a Jehova's witness a few days ago, and she really wanted to fight with us.  But as we were talking she asked us who Jehova was, and we told her he is Christ, and she went on that he is God.  We shared some scriptures from the bible and I think we helped her see.  At the end of our little chat she said, for 19 year-olds, we know a lot about the bible, more than she does.  The funny thing is, I have never studied the bible much in my life, other than seminary.  So I find it funny that all these religions say they know the bible, but if they did, they would know our church is the right one.

The rain has been picking up again, it is really nice to see the sun some mornings.  But if you are in the sun for more than like 1 minute it just starts frying you, it is such a powerful sun.

Sorry this is short, I'm out of time.

I will have a lot of pics next week, sorry.

A picture and video of the rain:

April 17th, 2017

Well, life is great.  Elder Christofferson came to Quito, I don't know why.  Today he talked to the missionaries here in Quito, so it was cool.  He just talked about how we need to teach repentance and stuff like that, and that we can tell people we offer them the kingdom of God.  So I thought that was cool.  The conference was about 2 hours, it was cool.

This week not a lot happened, just a lot of contacting, and a lot of people that think they know about our church.  They say that God is God and not Joseph Smith and we tell them that is right, Joseph Smith is not God, and then they get mad at us.  It is funny when we are contacting and the people say well, where is this in the bible and we show them where it is in the bible, and then they get mad at us.  It is just sad for me to see all these people lost about the Doctrine of Christ, and I want to help them, but they are just using there agency.

The rain has come back and it has been a little cold.  I'm starting to barter like a Latino.  When bread is normally 12 cents and they charge me 15, I say no because it is too much, or when a bag of chips is a $1.10 and they charge me $1.15 I say no.  I hope I get over it by the time I go home or I won't want to buy anything.

Yeah, I can't wait to Skype, I don't know anything about the time we get to do it, but I'll find out.

Sorry this is short, but I love you all, and I will have pics next week.  Have a nice week.

April 11th, 2017

Well, it is funny you guys got stuck in traffic, there is a lot of that here in the mornings, and at night, but I don't mind because we aren't on the roads.

Life is good, we got divisions, so I'm now with a Latino elder, Elder Zavala, he is from Perú.  We haven't talked much yet, but I bet by tonight everything will be good.  The rain has started again, but I like it.

I ate crab, at at converts house.  We helped clean them and stuff, but they tasted alright.  They were a little small and I played with some kittens again, they're just so funny, and small.

Not a lot happened this week.  We did a little activity with the stake, it was alright.  We did a skit, but it wasn't too good.

Something funny happened, we were contacting and this old women was standing outside this house under construction, but there was only the framing and a lot of dirt.  We thought she was standing there because we were contacting her house, but we went over and contacted her.  She said she was waiting for her son and husband to come out of the building (that was under construction) but we could see into it and no one was there.  So after we contacted her, and she didn't want anything to do with us, we hid behind a corner and watched to see if anyone would come out of the building.  All these really old women came out and we had no idea what they were doing in that building but there were like 15 of them, it was so weird.

Sorry this is short, but I love you all, and have a nice week.

April 3rd, 2017

Well, life is good.  None of our investigators went to conference, but I liked conference it was good.  I was hoping they would not announce temples because I was hoping that next October they would announce 12 temples in Missouri, it would have been awesome.

Not a lot happened this week, and it has not rained that much, but I think the rainy season ends in May.

This Saturday we are doing skits in a stake activity.  In my district we are doing Cinderella.  We are changing it to fit missionary work.  I will film it when we do it, but it should be good, and fun.  We practiced today and it should be funny.

One of our converts has kittens and they started fighting so I took a video, it is funny.  I also took a video of me and elder Lambson jamming out to some Mormon tab.  Something that happened to me is, on Sunday, when we were eating lunch, my cup was upside down and I didn't realize it so I started pouring juice into it and it got all over the table, it was funny.

Not a lot has happened this week, I love you all and sorry this is really short, but have a great weekend, I sent pics to Ellie.

Here is what president said about the mudslides in Perú and Columbia.

President Christensen
